Sedimentary rocks are also called stratified roks.why???

The sedimentary rocks are called stratified rocks because it is found in layers. Explanation: Sedimentary rocks are formed by deposition of sediments. After millions of years when these sediments are under an "extremely high pressure and temperature" they solidify to form sedimentary rocks.
