=8 cm + 6 cm = 14 cm

If the the final position if of 6 cm  and the initial position is of 8 cm then according to displacement formula it can be calculated as:
x= x(f) - x(i)
 = 6 - 8
 =2 cm
So the displacement is of 2 cm
