x/4+5+7=x

x/4-x=-12

-3x/4=-12

-3x=-12×4

X=-48/-3(minus and minus will get cancelled)

Therefore,X=48/3

X=16

Hence,there are totally 16 sweets.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of sweets he had at start be x

Sweets given to renu=x/4

Sweets given to raji=5

By the problem,

x-x/4-5=7

4x-x-20=28

3x-28+20

3x=48

x=16

Therefore

Sekhar had 16 sweets at start
