Select the equation that most accurately depicts the word problem.

The perimeter of a rectangle is 68 inches. The perimeter equals twice the length of L inches, plus twice the width of 9 inches.

68 = 9L + 2
68 = 2L + 2(9)
68 = 9(L + 2)
68 = L/2 + 2(9)
68 = 2/L + 2/9
68 = 2(L - 9)

The perimeter is the sum of all the sides which is 68.

The length L is twice and hence it will be 2 L. if you go through by question, breath is twice the 9 inches that will make it 2*9 and hence 2(9).

Hence, the main equation of the question is

2L + 2*9 = 68
