yes self confidence os more important as the nightingle had confidence on her voice but she also kept blind faith on frog without thinking that he may male her voice bad. because of her trust frog took his advantage and made her voice so harsh that she died.

"Self confident is the most important quality to become successful in life." As we have in the poem by vikram seth "the frog and the nightingale" that nightingle had excellent voice but lack in self confindence that is why when frog said some corrective and praising words to her she became very impress of him and told him to become teacher of her which later result of her death.

frog took advantage of this situation and forced nightingale to practise her song so hard from day to night and night to day which made her tired and passing day she become pale but her blind faith on frog result in her death.
