Q 1 : Semi perimeter of a scalene triangle with side K, 2k, 3K is ...

solution : scalene triangle : all three sides of triangle are different.

perimeter of triangle = sum of side lengths

here side lengths of triangle are k, 2k , 3k

so, perimeter = k + 2k + 3k = 6k

we know, semi perimeter = perimeter/2

= 6k/2 = 3k

Therefore the semi perimeter of given triangle is 3k.

Q 2 : Calculate the area of an equilateral triangle whose perimeter is 60 cm.

solution : perimeter of equilateral triangle = 3 × side length

⇒60 cm = 3 × side length

⇒side length = 60/3 = 20 cm

now area of equilateral triangle = √3/4 × (side length)²

= √3/4 × (20 cm)²

= √3/4 × 400 cm²

= 100√3 cm²

Therefore the area of triangle is 100√3 cm²
