Step-by-step explanation:

a) 15/100 × 8400 = 1260

therefore , 1260 inhabitants are in the school

b) 74/100 × 8400 = 6216

therefore , 6216 inhabitants are under 60

c) since the new population is added to the existing population

new population = existing population + 4% of existing population

new population = 8400 + 4/100 × 8400

= 8400 + 336

= 8736
