Criminal law:
"Offenses which are committed against any individual but are seen as being against everybody, even though it does not, come under the Criminal law."
Types of laws:
Our Indian Judicial System has four types of laws they are - criminal law, civil law, common law and statutory law.
Criminal law of India:
- The laws that comes under criminal law in India are the " Indian Penal Co de (IPC) and the Criminal Procedure Cod e (CrPC)" .
- The Indian Penal C ode (IPC) is the chief document in which all the criminal acts and the punishments they ought to be charged with are included.
- The Criminal Procedure Cod e (CrPC) includes all the procedures that has to be followed during the investigation and trial by the court and the police.
The IPC includes two types of offences:
Cognizable offence in which, the police can arrest the person without a warrant.
Non-cognizable offence in which, the police cannot arrest the person without a warrant.
