Given:

The ratio who like tea nd coffee is 9:8

25% liked tea and coffee both

80 liked none of these

20% likes tea only

To find:

The number of people participated in survey

Solution:

Percentage of people who liked tea= Percentage who liked both tea and coffee + percentage who liked only tea = 20%+25% = 45%

So, by comparing with the ratio, we can say that:

Tea: Coffee= 9:8

So, 9 units= 45%

So, 8 units= 40%

So, the percentage of people who liked coffee= 40%

Therefore, the percentage of people who liked only coffee= 40%-25% = 15%

So, the percentage of people who liked tea or coffee or both= 15%+25%+20% = 60%

So, the percentage of people who didn't like anything= 40%

We can write as -

40% = 80 ( given in the question as liking none of these)

So, 100%( the total) = 200

The number of people participated in survey is 200.
