Step-by-step explanation:

If 7 cubes are joined end to end in a straight line it will form a cuboid of length 35cm.

Length(l)=35cm

Breadth(b)=5cm

Height(h)=5cm

Formula of surface area of cuboid=

2(lh+bh+lb)

=2(35×5+5×5+35×5)

=2(175+25+175)

=2(375)

=750sq.cm

Given:

Length of a cube = 5 cm

Number of cubes = 7

To find:

The surface area of the cuboid formed by joining the cubes end to end.

Solution:

When we join the given cubes end to end then a cuboid of dimension 35×5×5 cm will form i.e. the length of the cuboid will be 35 cm, its breadth will be 5 cm and its height will be 5 cm. The surface area of such a cuboid will be:

= 2(length×breadth + breadth×height + height×length)

= 2(35×5 + 5×5 + 5×35)

= 2(175 + 25 + 175)

= 2 × 375

= 750 cm²

Thus, the surface area of the cuboid will be 750 cm².
