Shakeel and sameer together sold ticket for a charity show for rs 3800. If shakeel sold = 3/8times the number of ticket sameer sold , how much did each of them sell.

Let sameer sold the tickets for Rsx.
so, Shakeel sold it for 1 whole 3/8 Times of x =11/8x.

ATQ
x+11/8 x=3800

8x+11x/8=3800 (add by taking lcm)

8x+11x=3800×8

8x+11x=30400

19x=30400

x=30400/19

=1600.

therefore sameer sold the tickets for Rs 1600
and Shakeel sold the tickets for Rs11/8×1600
=Rs2200
