Shanti Sweets Stall was placing an order for making cardboard boxes for packing
their sweets. Two sizes of boxes were required. The bigger of dimensions
25 cm x 20 cm x 5 cm and the smaller of dimensions 15 cm x 12 cm x 5 cm. For all the
overlaps, 5% of the total surface area is required extra. If the cost of the cardboard is
*4 for 1000 cm2, find the cost of cardboard required for supplying 250 boxes of each
kind.

Answer:

surface area = (bh) (bl) (hl)

  • In bigger box

let breadth be in bigger box be 25

length be 20

height be 5.

  • In smaller box.

let breadth be in smaller box be 15

length be 12

height be 5

so, surface area of bigger box is 6250000cm^3. surface area of smaller box is 810000cm ^3

total area = 7060000cm^3

  • 5% related

we take the total area + 5%of total area

7060000cm^3 + 353000 cm^3 = 7413000cm^3
