Shape of an aeroplane is like a bird.

Birds, aeroplanes, boats and fishes, all have two things in common.

1. They have streamlined shapes. (To see what streamlined shape looks like, refer to the pic I have attached)

2. They move through fluids.

What are fluids?

Fluids include both liquids and gases. For example: Oxygen, water, honey, alcohol, hydrogen, argon, etc. are all fluids. Air and water are the two most common fluids present around us.

Fluids also exert friction on the objects moving through fluids called fluid friction or drag.

Objects moving through fluids have a special shape called streamlined shape.

Why the objects moving through fluids have streamlined shape?

Objects moving through fluids have streamlined shape so as to reduce drag. When an object having a streamlined shape moves fast through a fluid, then the fluid can flow past the object, reducing the drag.

⇒ We see that both the aeroplane and the bird have a streamlined shape to reduce drag and have one pair of wings, which are shaped to create a lift.
