Yea this may be correct but the more appropriate will that in which you had mentioned both of the persons name.
For example:- XYZ(let it be any name) is engaged with Suman. (remember name should always start with capital letter.)
IN OTHER CASE:-
In case you don't know the name of the person with whom Suman is engaged to, then you can use the above sentence.
The other possibility is also there., i.e., if u are showing someone that who is the person with whom Suman is engaged to, then the above sentence is correct.
