this is because, lion when roars , it's voice is more loud, having more intensity.. lemme explain it here....
Roaring of a lion produces a sound of low pitch and high intensity/loudness, whereas the buzzing of mosquito produces a sound of high pitch and low intensity/loudness. That is how roar of a lion can be differentiated from buzzing of mosquito.
Now here, intensity depends on wavelength, and pitch depends on amplitude and frequency!!!
