Shifting cultivation is a form of cultivation where people clear forests by burning them and making space suitable for cultivation.
After cultivating for few years the leave the area, allowing it to get naturally fertile once more...

IT IS A TYPE OF AGRICULTURE ESPECIALLY PRACTISED IN TROPICAL AFRICA IN WHICH AN AREA OF GROUND IS CLEARED OF VEGETATION AND CULTIVATED FOR A FEW YEARS AND THEN ABANDONED FOR A NEW AREA UNTIL ITS FERTILITY HAS BEEN RESTORED
