IT IS A TYPE OF AGRICULTURE ESPECIALLY PRACTISED IN TROPICAL AFRICA IN WHICH AN AREA OF GROUND IS CLEARED OF VEGETATION AND CULTIVATED FOR A FEW YEARS AND THEN ABANDONED FOR A NEW AREA UNTIL ITS FERTILITY HAS BEEN RESTORED
