Shilpa has two planks of wood. One of them is 15 m less than 4 times the length of the other one. The two planks put together are 20 metres long. What is the length (in metres) of the shorter plank?

Let the lengths of the planks=a,b

a+b=20m

x+(4x-15)=20m

5x=35m

x=7m
