Shiva and Sanjay work in an Information Technology (IT) multi-national company (MNC) in the same team as management trainees. They both got selected through campus placement. It has been six months since they joined the company. While filling up their confirmation forms Shiva came to know that Sanjay draws more remuneration than him. This had visibly upset Shiva and he started dumping all his work to Sanjay. The strained relationship between them could be sensed by their colleagues as well. Sanjay probed for this and from one of Shiva’s new confidante he came to know the reason.

In a situation like this,Shiva must talk to his seniors if he feels that the salary is not justified but Shiva is not satisfied with Sanjay's explaination then Shiva must talk to Human Resourse Management and the finance department.This is because the HR manager decided what salary has to be given to the employees and the finance department is responsible for the deductions.

If Sanjay's salary is high due to some qualifications like his other trainings and coures that make him more qualified for a higher salary then this has to be explained to Shiva and Shiva must be motivated to improve his performance to get rewards and salary hike in future.

In a current situation Shiva is feeling cheated by the company and this is effecting his work and relationships with other employees.

This is a critical situation and Seniors must immidiately  talk to Shiva

It is due to the organisational behaviour due to which such conflicts arose between Shiva and Sanjay.

They being of same eligibility with same percentile should get equal pay without any ill will.

However, as he found that he gets less remuneration, he feels quite depressed and wanted to know the reason behind.
