Shivaji sacked the wealthy Mughal trading center by attacking Shaista Khan and Surat.


Shaishta Khan sends the Rajput Mizra Raja Jai Singh I along with the army comprised of 15000 to defeat Shivaji.


Jai Singh forces Shivaji with their forceful army, siege many Shivaji’s forts, and he succeeded in attracting several Shivaji key commanders into the Mughal side.


By mid-1665, Shivaji forced to sign up the treaty of Purander by agreed to give up 23 forts and pay compensation of 400000 golds Hun to the Mughals.


He also sent his son to fight for Mughals in the Deccan.

Due to the following reasons, Shivaji Maharaj entered into the Treaty of Purandar:

1) To keep a check on the adding conditioning of Shivaji Maharaj, Aurangzeb transferred Mirzaraja Jaisingh to Pune.

2) Jaisingh transferred Mughal forces to the colourful corridor of the Swaraj to capture the castles that Shivaji Maharaj held. These forces oppressively damaged the homes of the Swaraj.

3) Shivaji Maharaj began medications to crush his ravage. still, Jaisingh and Dilerkhan laid siege to the stronghold of Purandar.

4) Murarbaji Deshpande tried hard to repel the Mughals at Purandar but he failed a idol's death in this. Considering the soberness of the situation, Shivaji Maharaj entered into a Treaty of Purandar.
