To Find : the rebate % on the  price of that item

Solution:

Let say Rebate %  =    R

Rebate on Price before GST  = (R/100)2000 = 20R   Rs

Price Before GST  = 2000 - 20R   Rs

= 20(100 - R)    rs

GST rate = 12 %

GST =  (12/100)20(100 - R)   =  2.4(100 - R)  Rs

= 240 - 2.4R

Amount inclusive GST = 2000 - 20R + 240 - 2.4R  

= 2240 - 22.4R   Rs

2240 - 22.4R   =  2016

=> 22.4R  = 224

=> R = 10

Rebate % on the  price of that item  = 10 %
