shoba has two piece of ribbion one piece is 720 cm long and other piece is 900 cm long she wants to cut both these ribbions into strips equal length that are long as possible how long should each strip be​

let the 720 cm strip be divided into x strips each of length a ;

ax=720 -----(1)

let the 900 cm strip be divided into y strips each of length a ;

ay=900 -----(2)

taking ratio of 1 and 2

5x=4y ;

keeping x=4 and y=5

length of each piece = 180 cm

so by keeping integral values of x and y u can get the no of strips

if we cut two strips of 720 cm that will be of 360cm each but 900 is not the multiple of 360 cm therefore further cut the strips into two and that will be if 180 cm each. each strip will be of 180 cm because 900 is also the multiple of 180.
