Shifting agriculture is a type of agriculture in which farmers cut a large number of trees to create land for cultivation in forests. farmers grow in the land for about 6 months until the land becomes unproductive(unable to grow crops). when the land becomes unproductive they move to another place and do the same in another part of the forest .it is practised in parts of assam etc. the disadvantage is that it causes deforestation
