Answer:

1) State the characteristics of the image formed by a plane mirror.

Solution:

An image formed by a plane mirror has the following characteristics:

Virtual and erect.

Behind the mirror.

The size of the image is equal to the size of the object.

Laterally inverted image (image of the left side visible on the right side).

The distance of the image behind the mirror is the same as the distance of an object from the mirror.

2) Once pollen grain spreads on the stigma, it produces a pollen tube. This process is called germination of pollen grain. The pollen tube penetrates the style and reaches the ovary. Male nucleus is transferred through this pollen tube. Finally, fusion of male and female nuclei takes place inside the ovary. This step is called fertilization.

3) Recharging of groundwater takes place by the rainwater and water present in the water source like river and ponds. The water tends to seep through the soil and fill the empty spaces and cracks below the ground. That’s how groundwater gets recharged.

4)When a body covers equal distances in a straight line, equal intervals of time are called uniform motion. Example: a car moving at 20km/h in a straight line.

When a body covers unequal distance in equal intervals of time in a straight line is called non-uniform Example : spinning wheel

5)When our cells perform their functions, certain waste products are released. These are toxic for our body and hence need to be removed from the body. If they are not removed, they can cause certain problems in our body and can even cause some diseases.
