Million of years ago dense forest got buried under the soil due the natural processes like storms floods and earthquakes these got compressed as more as soil get deposit over them . When they buried deep in the soil they were exposed to very high pressure and temperature.Under these conditions these slowly get converted into coal.

1st -plants and animals are buried under earth surface.
2nd -then pressure and temperature increase and they convert into peat coal than convert into lignite coal and than in bituminous coal and again pressure and temperature increases and bituminous coal convert into COAL
