Pabuji Rathore was a resident of Kolhugarh.He was engadged with daughter of Soda Rana of Amarkot.
Pabu had made one Charan Devi named Dewal as his sister.She has very beautiful and capable mare whose name was 'Kesar Kalvi'.Dewal used to take care of her cows through this mare.On the occasion of marriage,Pabuji borrowed this mare.Dewal told about the intention of Jindrao.His intention was to obtain the mare.Pabuji promised to protect her mare.When pabuji was performing the matrimonial rites,then Pabu got the news that Jindrao fled,taking her cow away,as per his pledge and riding over Kesar Kalvi mare,he followed Jindrao.He got the cows freed but Pabuji himself remained on the farmland.The half-married Sodhi performed Sati along with Pabuji.
This glorious saga of his bravery us collected in Pabuji ka phad,the recital of which is very popular.Pabuji is worshipped in the form of folk deity.
