raja ram mohan roy was born in 1772 ce at radhnagar village in hoogly district og bengla was the first scoil refomer of india.

He opposed strongly agaist the evil practices of "Sati system "

"child marriage " "Dudhpiti" etc... and made great efforts to abolish them from indian society

He started two new paper "the samdaba kaumudi"(1821) in bengali

& "the mirat - ul - akbar " (1827) in persian

He establised the "brahmo samaj" in 1828 CE. He also established a hindu collage in kolkata .
