Mir Qasim (deposed nawab of Bengal), Shuja-Ud-Daula (nawab of awadh) and Shah Alam II(mughal emperor) Combined forces and fought against the British in 1764.The combined forces lost to the British under Thomas Munro. Shah AlamII went to British side, Mir quasim became a wanderer and shuja ud Daula escaped to Rokilkhand. Awadh was now under the British. Shah Alam II gave the diwani(right to collect revenue) of Bengal bihar and orissa. Eeic received a war indemnity of ₹5 million. Suja ud Daula was given back awadh but it was still under the influence of the British. Shah Alam II was given a pension and remained only a titular head. No doubt, the battle of buxar made the Eeic the undisputed masters of Bengal.
