short note on Bureaucracy of Muhammad bin tuglaq
Answers
Mohammed bin tughlaq was a very learnt man who had a deep understanding of many fields such as religion and philosophy but because of some big controversial and wrong decisions, he is known as an incapable ruler.
One of his most controversial steps was the shifting of the capital from Delhi to devagiri in the Deccan which he renamed as Daulatabad. The reason behind the transfer of the capital was to have greater control over the southern regions and Daulatabad was more centrally located for that than Delhi but soon he realised that he was not able to control the North-west regions from the Deccan and thus, this experiment failed.
another experiment by Muhammad bin tughlaq was the introduction of token currency. He decided to issue copper coins which will have the same value as that of silver and gold coins but because of the illegal minting or fogging of the token coins, the government finally decided to take back the token coins and exchange gave silver coins to people in which they suffered a very heavy financial loss.
