There are 3 different types of meristematic tissues. They are:
1.Apical meristem: Location:It is present at the growing tips of roots and stems. Function:It increases the length of the stem and root.
2.Lateral Meristem: Location:The girth of the stem. Function:The girth of the stem and the root increases due to lateral meristem.
3.Intercalary Meristem: location: Intercalary meristem is the meristem at the base of the leaves or internodes. Function:It helps in increasing thebase of the leaves or internodes(on either side of the node) on twigs.
