Coal

Asia has enormous reserves of coal, amounting to nearly three-fifths of the world’s total, but they are unevenly distributed. The largest reserves are found in Siberia, the Central Asian republics, India, and especially China;Indonesia, Japan, and North Korea have smaller but nevertheless economically important reserves. China has chiefly high-grade coal reserves. Every province has at least one coalfield, but the largest reserves are in Shanxi and Shaanxi in the Ordos River basin in the north. Sichuan, Shandong, and the Northeast(Fushun, in Liaoning province) are old coal-producing regions with good reserves, and a coal-mining area with large deposits has been developed in central Anhui, north of the Yangtze River(Chang Jiang). Mines in Ningxia and Gansu supply northern industrial plants, but their reserves are not clearly known. The long-known reserves in western Hebei are being exploited.

● Asia produces more than half of the world's tin. The leading producers are China ,Malaysia , Thailand , Vietnam , Philippines and Indonesia.

● India is the largest producer of mica in the world .

● China is the leading producer of lead , antimony and

tungsten.

● Asia also has a rich commercial deposits of manganese, nickel , Copper , Gold , Silver and zinc.

Europe possesses a large variety of minerals. The availability of mineral in Europe was one of the causes of the Industrial Revolution. The main minerals found are iron ore, bauxite , zinc , lead , sulphur , potash ,copper and mercury.

● Europe is the leading producer of iron ore and the deposits the distributed throughout the continent . The main producers are Ukraine , Russia,Spain ,Germany, France ,Sweden and UK

● Bauxite the ore of aluminium , is found in Germany, France ,Norway ,Australia, UK , Russia and Italy.

● Rich deposits of lead and zinc are found in Belgium, France ,Spain ,Germany and Poland.

● Eastern Europe and Russia has a deposits of copper, manganese and nickel.

● Sulphur and Potash are also found in many part of Europe.
