#So, Thé Answer Is.. --) The Gandhi Irwin Pact was a political agreement signed by Mahatma Gandhi and the then Viceroy of India, Lord Irwin on 5 March 1931 before the second Round Table Conference in London. Before this, the viceroy Lord Irwin announced in October 1929, a vague offer of 'dominion status' for India in an unspecified future and a Round Table Conference to discuss a future constitution. The second round table conference which was held in 1931.
"The Two Mahatmas"—as Sarojini Naidudescribed Gandhi and Irwin—had eight meetings that totaled 24 hours. Gandhi was impressed by Irwin’s sincerity. The terms of the "Gandhi-Irwin Pact" fell manifestly short of those Gandhi prescribed as the minimum for a truce.

In Gandhi Irwin pact where Lord Irwin Came to Gandhi and asked him to join in the second round table conference which was held in London but gandhi ji put conditions:
1) to release the prisoners
Britishers put conditions:
1) to call off CDM
Gandhi ji joined the second round table conference but he came disappointed, he heard that the prisoners where again arrested. Seeing this violence Gandhi ji Re-launched CDM and it continued from 1932-1934.
