Polio is such a type of disease, which causes paralysis to one side of the body or any part of it. That organ cannot do any work. Many people are paralysed due to polio in India. This disease attacks the nervous system. This disease attacks the nervous system.
This disease is caused by very minute virus.
Mode of transmission -: The viruses of this disease enter the body of a healthy individual through liquids such as milk or water .
Symptoms -: First of all, the individual gets fever .He feels cold. He also get bad cold. He usually has a complaint of headache and vomiting. Rigidity is also felt in back. The patient feels weakness. Intestines becomes weak. Muscles do not work properly.
Prevention
1 Vaccination must be given at regular intervals.
2 The patient's foodstuffs should be covered.
3 The patient should be covered with blanket.
4 Boiled water should be given.
5 A well Qualified doctor should be consulted.
Immunization -: oral polio vaccine (OPV) were given in birth, 6,10,14 weeks, 9 months, 15 to 18 months, 5years.
