Answer:

Mitochondria Structure

They are made of two membranes. The outer membrane covers the organelle and contains it like a skin. The inner membrane folds over many times and creates layered structures called cristae. The fluid contained in the mitochondria is called the matrix.

The mitochondria is a cell organelle present in both animal and plant cells it is responsible for producing energy in the cell ( through ATP causing reactions)

ATP or adenosine triphosphate is the energy currency of the cell. The mitochondria is responsible for producing such energy through substances such as glucose or carbohydrates by oxidisation which cause energy and is captured by the cell.

the mitochondria has 2 membrane coverings an outer covering and an inner covering which has folds to increase surface area for ATP causing reactions. The mitochondria also has its own protein synthesis and DNA.

Hope this helps ;)
