Rowlatt act was passed hurriedly in 1919 by imperial legislative council in respect to gandhiji's idea of satyagraha.............

according to this act....the british government could repress any political activity and could detain any political prisoner for two years without any trial...........


Gandhiji decided to oppose this with satyagraha....on 6th april 1919 was obsorved as national satyagraha day when people all around the country obsorved fast and hartal....................on 10th april 1919, the police fired upon a peaceful procession which provoked widespread anger among the people...nd people attacked the government building,banks l,post offices and railway stations...................later on aftr seeing spread of violence gandhiji took back the rowlatt satyagraha....//
