Vernacular Press Act was passed by the Britishers
it was passed in 1878.
proposed by lord lytton.
it stops any news which hurt the feelings of brtishers in any newspaper.

Vernacular press act was a act started by Lord Lytton ..The act forbids vernacular papers to publish any material that might excite feelings of dissatisfaction among the British government It was published in the year 1878 while was repealed by lord Ripon in the year 1882
