Short notes on Agar, Carrageen, Funori ? ​

Agar :

Agar is obtained from Gelidium and Gracilaria. It is used in Microbiology lab for solidification of culture media and in preparation of jellies and ice creams.

Carrageen :

It is obtained from Chondrus and is used as emulsifiers on ice creams, chocolates and as clearing agents in liquors.

Funori :

It is obtained from Gloiipeltoes and is used as glue in textile and paper industry.
