As all of you know when Diwali is round the corner, people let off tons and tons of toxic pollution into the environment. In the name of celebrating the festival they are making life dangerous. We must celebrate Diwali differently. Our cities have already become polluted to the maximum. Let’s not pollute them anymore! Cannot we celebrate Diwali without crackers? Is it compulsory to fill our already polluted environment with more poison? Are we wise in doing so? Why do we precipitate the process of our own fall and sufferings? Bursting fire crackers has only disadvantages! Wastage of money, poisonous smoke, unbearable noise, fire accidents, garbage, litter, etc! And still we want to burst them!
Crackers often contain elements like copper, cadmium, sulphur, aluminium and barium to produce the vibrant colours once ignited. The harmful gases produced from the bursting of crackers, such as Nitrous Oxide, remains in the air for a long time if the city doesn't get enough rain or strong winds. Inhaling the fumes emitted by firecrackers increases the chances of asthma attack among patients. Heart patients and patients of chronic bronchitis and low immune system are at high risk too.
Let’s join hands to say no to crackers while celebrating Diwali. Let’s not poison the air our children breathe. We have the responsibility of bequeathing a cleaner and healthier future. If we won’t ensure their safety and happiness, who else will?

Pollution one of the primary causes of diseases and deaths in the world has slowly andnbsp;steadilynbsp;poisoned the environment as well. The health of the environment is now dependent upon us. We cannot afford to ignore the warning signs and continue with anti-environmental activities. If we do not mend our ways it will not just affect the environment but will weaken us as well. It isnbsp;after allnbsp;a symbiotic relationship that we share with the environment.
Diwali the most popular Hindu festival of light has lately come to be associated with fireworks. So much so that people have been blatantly ignoring the environmental hazards associated with it and continued to burst crackers in celebration of the festival.
Fireworks are one of the leading causes that worsen air and noise pollution radically during the festival. The celebration with crackers has made it an injurious threat to human health and the environment in general. These sparklers have taken away the charisma and the soul of this festival.
Let Diwali justifies its meaning that is lsquo;festival of lightsrsquo; that spreads happiness and positivity in everyone’s life. nbsp; And this Diwali let us boycott crackers. Ring in the change and celebrate the festival in a new way where there can still be festivities and joyous feelings sans the use of firecrackers that add to the pollution.
