A rich, famous, popular man is Antonio, a leading Venice merchant. There was a young man named Bassanio among his many friends who owed Antonio a lot of money. Bassanio would like to repay his friend, but so far he has been unable to do so. However, he now feels that he may have found a way — but he will again need a loan from Antonio. Shylock, a wealthy Jewish financial lender who retains deep resentment of Antonio, agreed to lend three thousand ducats on Antonio's bond for the  three months to Bassanio. If the day for payment comes due and money is not returned, Shylock does, however, have to cut one pound of flesh from the body of Antonio

Explanation:

Shylock meets his adversary Antonio in the Court of Justice, appointed by the Duke of Venice. Antonio is encircled and resigns himself to death peacefully. Shylock's adversaries are on either side. Bassanio pleads for double the amount of money to be accepted by Shylock, but Shylock refuses

At this point Portia and Nerissa posing as a lawyer join the court and inform the duke that an experienced lawyer, Doctor Bellario, from Padua has sent them to argue the case. Portia asks for support from Shylock, but he won't listen.

She offers three times the amount of moneylender owed to her, but Shylock is not going to have anything again. She then tells the court solemnly that Shylock has its legal rights. So Shylock is told that he needs to be careful. He needs to cut only 1 pound of flesh and not pour out the blood of Antonio

The lands and property of Shylock would be seized if he did not. Shylock immediately agrees to accept triple bond payments, but Portia says no; instead Shylock offers to take only the initial 3,000 ducats, but Portia refuses to take back, remembering that it was himself who demanded the strict interpretation of the Law.

Shylock's life is saved by the Duke, but he does give Antonio half the money of Shylock and he gives the rest to the state. Antonio says that if Shylock decides to be a Christian, and if he will agree to leave his money to his daughter, Jessica, and her new husband, Lorenzo. . Shylock, weakened and defeated, admits and leaves the trial
