In the story the witches by 'Roald Dahl' ,the whole novel deals with witches in a funny way. In the novel the protagonist was unnamed,the boy. In this novel the boy and his grandmother lived together. The boy had lost his mother and father. The boy's grandmother usdd to tell the boy stories of witches and how to recognize a witch. One day the boy encountered with a witch. He was very much astonished with this . After some months the boy and his grandmother left to stay in a hotel. In that hotel the boy came to know that the witches were going to have their grand meeting with the grand high witch. While he was listening to the meeting of the witches he somehow got caught up and was made to drink their special portion called "Formula 86 delayed-action mouse-maker", a magical portion which can transform a person especially child into mouse ,after made to drink that portion the boy converted into a mice. At the last with the help of his grandmother the boy made all the witches to drink that portion by mixing that portion in their food. And at last all the witches got killed .....

Roald Dahl captures our imaginations in this story of witches who plot to turn children into mice. Luckily, the little-boy-turned-mouse who narrates the story defeats the antagonist, the Grand High Witch, and the other witches through his plan to turn them into mice. The plan works and the witches are killed.....
