Should a woman get a seat in buses or other places reserved

i really feel that this reservations are causing the biggest havoc in the country. y is it compulsory for a seat to be reserved for a woman you see many men even though they are tired and they see a lady standing the sacrifice the seat by offering it to her.

In some cases it should be but only to senior citizens. If boys and girls are said to be equal then they must be treated equally.
