Coloring in someone else’s drawing is the antithesis of doodling. If you want to doodle, get a few different colors of pencils, markers or pens, and just start creating patterns on paper. Could be circles or spirals or boxes within boxes or random, wavy lines. Use one color, then another. add smaller patterns, or crosshatching, or cartoon characters, or whatever takes your fancy.
