if a right angle triangle is there whose two legs are of length 5 units amd 1 units. so according to the Pythagorean theorem the (hypotenuse)² =(5)²+(1)²

(hypotenuse )²=25+1

(hypotenuse) ²=26

(hypotenus )=√26

now take 5 units on number line and take 1 unit perpendicular (you can take in alternative way).

so the line you get which has unknown measurements will be √26.

now take rounder and take radius of √26 and extend that line so that it would touch the number line.

the point you get on the number line will be √26 from 0
