Two numbers are co-prime if their hcf is 1.Let us find the hcf of 231 and 396. applying the Euclid's division lemma:396=231×1+165 231=165×1+66 165=66×2+33 66=33×2+0 the HCF of 231 and 396 is 33. Ans,Thus the numbers 231 and 396 are not co-primes.
