2x+1=0
or,x=_1/2
put x=_1/2 in the given polynomial
p(x)=2x^3+x^2_6x_3
p(_1/2)=2× (_1/2)^3+ (_1/2)^2_ 6×_1/2 _3
=_1/4 +1/4 +3 _3=0
so 2x +1 is a factor of p(x).
