$Assume \: that \: 3 \sqrt{7} is \: rational \\\\ 3 \sqrt{7} = \frac{p}{q} \: \: \\where \: p \: and \: q \: are \: integers \: and \\ q \: not \: = 0 \\ \\ \sqrt{7} = \frac{p}{3q} \\ \\ our \: assumption \: is \: wrong \: because \: \\ \frac{p}{3q} \:is \: irrational \: i.e. = \sqrt{7} \\ \\ hence \: 3 \sqrt{7} is \: Irrational.$
