 \huge \underline \mathfrak {Solution:-}

The numbers the said to be in proportion of the product of there extreme is equal to the product of there mean.

Here, extreme are:- 4 and 18

So, the product of extreme = 4 × 18 = 72.

And,

Mean are :- 8 and 16

So, the product of mean = 8 × 16 = 128.

Since , Product of extreme ≠ Product of mean

So, they are not in proportion.

To be proportion the product of mean =product of extremes

4.18=72

and 16.8=128

here product of mean is not equal to product of extreme

so it is not proportion
