If a perpendicular is drawn from the vertex of a right angle of a right triangle to the hypotenuse , then the triangles on either side of the vertex are similar to each other and to the whole triangle

no sir , question is correct , you first have to prove that the smaller triangle is similar to bigger triangle(AA similarity)
then prove that bigger triangle is similar to other small traingle by same similarity
