In the above figure [math] d_1, d_2 [/math] are the lengths of the diagonals.
The area of rhombus ABCD = the area of triangle ABD + area of triangle BCD.
Area ABCD = [math] (1/2) * (d_2) * (d_1)/2 + (1/2) * (d_2) * (d_1)/2 [/math]
Area ABCD = [math] (1/4) * (d_1) * (d_2) + (1/4) * (d_1) * (d_2) [/math]
Area ABCD = [math] (1/2) * (d_1) * (d_2) [/math]
