L.H.S. = cos x + tan x sin x

= cos x + $\dfrac{\sf sin\: x}{\sf cos\:x}$ × $\sf sin \:x$

= $\dfrac{\sf cos^{2}x + sin^{2}x}{\sf cos\:x}$

= $\dfrac{\sf 1}{\sf cos\:x}$

= $\sf sec \:x$ = R.H.S.
