Force is equal to change in momentum divided by time not Impulse,it is just change in momentum.

F= dp÷dt.

This is Newton's second law. To actually derive it from something really fundamental and deep requires the Principle of Least Action and some pretty hard math. Newton himself just figured it out by experiment.
